The cost of firing is included in your By hand, at-home kit.
the next steps …. (how mysterious)
to make your pieces food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe, we have to fire them twice in our kilns (max temp. 1280 degrees). Below is a list of things to get them to the studio nice and safe.
we have to make sure your pieces are fully dried before we put them in the kiln. so, we advise letting your pieces dry for at least one week before booking a timeslot to drop them off.
To make sure we know whose work belongs to who (?), we ask that you write your name/ maker’s mark on the base of all your pieces (please keep your maker’s mark the same for all your pieces).

How to pack your ceramics, to transport them to the studio
your pieces become very fragile as they dry.
to avoid causing any cracks or breakages, please do not pick up any pieces by the rim (the very top of your work).
wrap them up individually in a tea towel/ tissue paper/ newspaper, etc., and stack no more than two items on top of each other in a box. When driving please go slow and no fast turns, hahaha.
GLAZES
We have four studio glazes for you to choose from, you have a choice between clear, white, green, or blue.
Unfortunately, due to the volume of pieces we receive, we cannot offer a choice of glazing style or multiple glaze options.

We go out of our way to handle your creations with absolute care and aim to deliver the best results possible. However, kiln firings can be unpredictable, and things can break. (we are not liable for any damage or breakage that can occur, your booking is an acceptance of these terms).
we aim to fire All pieces within a three to four-week period, however, this is not always possible (we will try to give you the clearest time estimate when you drop off your pieces).

our drop-off times are between Wednesday to Friday 11 am - 4 pm or Saturday 3:30 - 5 pm.
